Happy January, readers!

With a simple calendar flip, we’ve made it to another year! I can’t believe it's 2025 already; how time sure flies, right? I’m very excited to see what God has in store for this year, both in Mosaic and my personal life.

Speaking of which, Mosaic is in full swing again for the start of the Spring Semester. With a busy first week - and rather interesting weather- it was a joy to see students again after the long break. I loved catching up with everyone and hearing the many stories of their Christmases, the exciting places they traveled to, and even new directions they were feeling led to.

UAA has only been back in session for a couple weeks, but that’s not to say it's been without activity! Let’s take a look at January:

Just a fun tidbit for my nature lovers, we had a spectacular display of the northern lights on New Year’s Day!

While I had some family visiting for the holidays, fireworks weren’t the only thing that was lighting up the night sky. Just as I was settling down after the busy holiday, I heard a knock at my door. My brother came to tell me the northern lights were out and were VERY vibrant. I’m glad I decided to get up because check out this display!

Not only was it beautiful, but it filled my heart with peace. I have a feeling God wanted to send the lights out just as a gift and to display His goodness, which reminded me of all He blessed me and Mosaic with this past year. It was a heartwarming reminder for the new year.

Spring Kickoff was fantastic!

I’m always astonished at how many new students we meet during Spring Kickoff. Fall Kickoff is always a large turnout, but so is the Spring! Half the week we were tabling, an epic game night was hosted, Mosaic night was a blast, and, on Friday, we went to a trampoline park. I was excited about all the new faces we had at our Game Night and welcome night. Mosaic continues to grow, and I’m looking forward to getting to know our new students and sharing the love of Christ with them.

Our student leaders put on another worship night on campus!

Our student leaders are AWESOME! This event was student-driven and led, with three of our campus ministries coming together to make it happen. I’m so proud of our student leaders for brainstorming, organizing, advertising, and running this event. I sadly was unable to make it, but the photos I saw looked like it was a blast! In fact, check out this reel our student leader, Sierra, made to capture the night.

"Let The Light Shine" worship event

Isn’t that awesome or what?

That brings our January to a close. And onto February! When this is posted, can you believe I only have 26 days left until I leave for Japan? I’M SO EXCITED! I’ve been busy collaborating with my YWAM director, creating an itinerary, booking tickets, and gathering material for my contacts, which makes it feel all the more real. Although I am excited, I will admit I’m feeling a bit nervous as well. But I believe God will produce wonderful fruit out of this.

And with that, here’s to a new year! I’m eager to take you along as I enter another year with Mosaic Campus Ministry. Thank you so much for your ongoing support, and I will see you all next month! God bless!
