Mosaic Internship Newsletter No. 5
Updated: Jun 28
Hello, readers! Happy May to you all!
Can you believe it’s the end of May already? Though, for the first time in a while, this month felt like it moved slightly slower than the rest. Perhaps it’s because I was traveling for three weeks! Not much happened Mosaic-wise now that the school year is over, so this update will be more about my recent traveling! There were times it was busy, but it was mostly a period of rest for me so that I could come back refreshed and ready to continue my internship. And I can confidently say that I am indeed refreshed!
So now, here are the updates for May!
The Collegiate Summit in Memphis, TN was spectacular!
It was quite busy and full of people, and travel was a little rough for me since I was recovering from being sick, but it was sensational! It was refreshing to be poured into and learn more about college ministry. Physically, I was exhausted, but spiritually, I was energized! It was also tremendous fun to travel with my team. It will always hold a special place in my heart. I met many amazing people, learned valuable material, and am motivated and optimistic about our next steps in Mosaic!
I got to visit family and friends in Florida.
When the summit finished, I was on another plane to Florida to visit my mom and family friends! Though a little too hot for my comfort, it was still relaxing to visit family/friends and work on my tan. I no longer look like a vampire and have a healthy complexion, haha. I also got to share my YWAM Japan trip and what kind of work I’m doing now with my friends! Everyone was excited and looked forward to seeing what God brings forth through this internship. That week and a half were full of fun times, relationship-building, and fellowship. The aquarium and river float trip were probably my favorite memories.
I also went to visit friends in North Carolina and attend their wedding!
Okay, so the trip to North Carolina was a headache and a half. I don’t have enough time to share all the details of the “flying horrors” but in short, what was supposed to be a quick trip became an over 24-hour dilemma, where I almost lost my baggage and sanity. I was even stuck in Savannah, Georgia a while. But once I was there in NC, it was fantastic! My friends (God bless them both) were so helpful and accommodating for the travel issues; I’m quite grateful for them. I finally got to see the farmland they live on and spend a few days with them before the wedding, helping them prep and get things sorted before the big day. The ceremony was beautiful (I was even a bridesmaid!), and I was so happy to help where I could. I wish I was able to spend more time with them, but I had to get back home to work. However, they let me know they are coming to Alaska this fall!
Now that I’m back home, you may be asking, “So what’s next, now that it’s summer?” Definitely getting outside as much as I can (I’ve already been on a few hikes since I got back), working hard on Mosaic projects, support-raising, and connecting with students! I’m actually leaving next week for Seattle for a couple of days for some Ministry Partner Training to guide me in my support-raising journey. This summer will be busy travel-wise, but I look forward to seeing what God's plan is and learning along the way.
As always, thank you for reading, and God bless you all!
