Mosaic Internship Newsletter No. 1
Updated: Jun 28
Welcome, readers!
It is an honor to have you join me in this next phase of my life. Though this blog will cover a diverse range of topics, from my adventure tales to Bible life applications, I will also use it as a newsletter about my internship. You may be wondering what exactly my internship is, but before diving into that, I would like to provide some brief background for clarity.
In April of 2023, I was in Japan for a Bible school called Discipleship Training School with the Christian organization Youth With A Mission. For the next five months, I spent time with nine other students, discovering more about God, missions, and the world.
I learned and experienced so much in those few months abroad, and one of my most impactful memories was when God revealed His calling for my life. I had asked God to declare His will to me for years, and He finally answered! He quietly said, “I want you to join Mosaic full-time and pursue writing.” Needless to say, I was ecstatic!
Before my trip to Japan, I was participating in a college Christian organization known as Mosaic. To put it simply, Mosaic is a campus ministry that is currently established at the University of Alaska Anchorage. Our goal is to lead students toward Christ, create a sense of community, and disciple students so that they may also make disciples. We have weekly meetings on campus that involve worship, a message, and small group discussions, which both believers and non-believers are welcome to attend. We also have Bible study groups, events to connect with others (like our famous Pancake Breakfast!), a brand new student leadership team, and more! We at Mosaic care about each person who steps through our doors, for we believe relational evangelism is vital to sharing the gospel. It is definitely something that drew me towards Mosaic when I was a student; the overwhelming community and kindness were refreshing, and I wanted more.
After some discussion and much prayer, my mentors at Mosaic offered me a year-long internship to test the waters of campus ministry! Some of my roles will be leadership in women’s ministry, planning and running campus events, creating lasting and meaningful relationships with students, discipleship training and more! Though I know there is still much to learn, I am convinced God had me partake in my Discipleship Training School to help prepare me for this internship.
After hearing some information about Mosaic and my internship, perhaps you are interested in supporting my journey. One of the ways you may do so is through financial support, as this is not a paid position. I would love to invite you to join me on this next phase in my life and become a Ministry Partner, so that our ministry may continue to flourish and reach the lives of our fellow college students. If you would like more information on how to support, you may click here.
With that, I am happy to say that I'm already working with Mosaic! So far, I am joyful to proclaim that I love it, ups, downs and all. I’m only a few weeks in and can already see just how much God is moving in Mosaic and the students around us!
I am beyond blessed and thankful that God sent me to Japan for those months to learn, equip, and prepare for this life-changing moment. I’m still learning the ropes as to what the internship entails for me, but I am excited and eagerly anticipate how God is going to use this year to bring glory to Him.
Once again, I thank you for your interest in learning more about what God has placed before me and His will for my life. I hope you will enjoy seeing how God moves in this next year. God bless you all!
