Mosaic Internship Newsletter No. 10

Happy October, readers!

Well, it's official: winter is upon us in Alaska! We just had our first snowfall of the season a couple days ago after many weeks of taunting us with frigid weather and snow in the mountains. Although not fun initially (with getting stuck in the snow and sliding everywhere), I’m actually kind of glad winter has begun. Our trees have been without leaves for weeks now, and the grass has died, so it’s refreshing to have a white blanket of snow to cover the ground. But Lord willing, we won’t have a winter like last year (I’m tired of breaking snow records, haha).

Anyway, let's take a look at what happened this past month!

We had a Barbie-themed craft night with the Mosaic girls!

The girls and I wanted to do a fun craft night together, especially for those who cannot make it to Journey Group nights. And with a craft night, of course, there needs to be a theme! We have a student studying event planning and design, so she was ecstatic to brainstorm the theme and put the decorations together. And it was a tremendous success! We all had a chance to bond, work on fun crafts, get dolled up, and relax together. Luckily, I could host since I was housesitting in Anchorage, which became the perfect location for this event.

The Ladies Journey Group continues to grow, as well as Mosaic.

I absolutely love seeing this. Our Ladies Journey Group averages between 8 and 11 girls, where it used to be about 5-6. Sure, the dorm gets a little crowded, but I love it! So many girls want to come together to learn more about Christ, and their personal walk with God and form deeper relationships with one another. I foresee how we may need to divide up the girls to accommodate, to which I’m overjoyed.

It’s not only our small groups that are growing, but Mosaic as well! With seeing new faces every week, our student count is increasing. I especially love how, even with all these new students, I never see them alone because a student leader will always make them feel welcome. I’m so proud of our student leaders and how they are helping to reach students on campus.

The DEN was packed! Praise God for that!

I’m at about 60% of my support-raising goal!

How awesome is that?! With every passing day, God is bringing me closer to my goal. Over the past month, I've had many meetings with current and new Ministry Partners, which has brought me encouragement. A couple I met from my church actually lives just around the corner from me! Another gentleman from my church also was feeling led to join, and he’s currently support-raising for his journey to Mongolia! Isn’t it sometimes hilarious how God works with placing people in your lives? All I can say is I’m so happy with who God is leading me to and the connections He’s helping me make. I can say confidently, that my Ministry Partner Team is strong and growing, and I couldn’t be happier with how God is working it all out. Sure, it’s taking longer than anticipated, but it is absolutely worth it. Praise God for His provisions and perfect plan!

Well, friends, that’s all I have for you now. If you could be, please pray that I will reach 100% before the end of this year, because I am aching to return. It honestly, physically pains me to be away because I love our students so much and want to be with them. But I need to remember that it’s God’s perfect timing and not my own (thank goodness for that!).

Thank you all so much for reading and for your continual prayer and support. You help make this ministry possible, and I am so grateful for each and every one of you. Also, if you have any prayer requests, please send them here! I would love to pray for you.

God bless, and I will see you next month!
